The overall build quality is good. Just a few notable things to note: 1) I had to rework the kydex to make a slide grip (note: I'm using a Sig custom FCU) 2) No audible retention click. I created a storage area to provide a tactile click by refolding the kydex and creating a pinch point between the light and the trigger guard. 3) The included metal belt clip provided good retention but had sharp edges that could damage your belt. I used a bit of sand on the dremel to rough up the edges 4) The custom optic seems to be so far back (closer to the rear sight) that it wouldn't be an issue if you were using the original Xseries slide where the rear sight is. it is removed with an optic plate. I just cut the optic clearance 1/4” near the tube with a dremel cutter.

High pressure for affordable practice ammo. I usually use NATO 239 grain .45 acp Glock 21 models but this is my second favorite. Haven't tried the Gen yet 5 and I'm generally more comfortable with the duty sized Glocks Gen 4. A better recoil assembly can help with any FTE or irregular ejection issues.

I bought it quite used without knowing its history. I modified the trigger and stop assembly to improve the trigger pull and added fiber optic sights. It was 100% reliable! I have owned it for about 7 years. Steel fittings, factory overhaul and old ammo - it just eats it up and spits it out! I own a collection of guns and I buy and sell them but keep it.

I bought my G17, Gen4 to have a 9mm single action for field use. I previously shot a .40 cal double action. The ease of shooting and feel is great. It had different sized backstraps, which is definitely a plus. I installed the Ultimate Pyramid Flat Face Trigger Assembly, Extended Slide Release and optical sights. But right out of the box it shoots very well. All in all I have about $900 in this gun which I think is worth the price for my preferences. It fits well in my hand, accurate, minimal recoil, crisp trigger break and quick reset, Good balance and reliable. The draw from the holster is smooth, but it's not too bulky for concealed carry. Great on the range and used during tack operations. Highly recommend this gun to the new or experienced shooter.

I have had my Gen4 Glock 17 for several years now and feel it is one of the best 9mm pistols on the market today. I installed the "ultimate pyramid trigger assembly" and fiber optic sights. These options only enhance the capabilities of this pistol. In addition, the large backstrap and beaver tail provide a good feel and comfort. Due to the design angle and size, it is comfortable and smooth to get a good grip from the draw. Needless to say, this is critical to the speed of achieving sight alignment for a quick shot to the target. As a firearm, it is lightweight so you will not get tired of carrying a heavy gun All day long. On the range or during tactical, accuracy is excellent. Shooting with my right or left hand is not a problem as it is well balanced. Whether shooting precision shots or rapid fire, I have yet to have a malfunction. Bottom line I highly recommend this gun for defense Domestic, mandatory, or even competition shooting.

Along with several other handguns, the Glock 17, Gen 4 is my "go to" handgun and I always feel safe with it by my side.

I have a gen 2 G17 it has never missed a beat. I switched to newer mags. The original leaves are starting to crack. I replaced the springs and replaced the plug. I put probably 3000 rounds through it and I would bet my life on it. I now have 5 Glocks and have had no problems with any of them.
